Op. Dr. Sezer Hacıağaoğlu graduated from Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine in 2012, following his graduation from Özel Bilfen Science High School in 2006. He began his ophthalmology residency at Marmara University Pendik Training and Research Hospital in 2013, completing it in 2017. His residency thesis compared standard versus accelerated corneal collagen cross-linking treatments for keratoconus, highlighting an early focus on corneal diseases.
His post-residency career includes positions at Sultan Abdülhamid Han Training and Research Hospital (2017-2019), Medipol University Çamlıca Hospital, Medipol Mega University Hospital, and Dünyagöz Ataşehir Hospital. Currently, Dr. Hacıağaoğlu works as a Specialist Ophthalmologist at Dünyagöz Etiler Hospital. Alongside his clinical practice, he maintains an academic role as a faculty member (teaching staff) in the Department of Ophthalmology at Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Medicine. His strong interest in cataract and refractive surgery is evidenced by memberships in the International Society of Refractive Surgery (ISRS) and the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS). He is also a member of the Turkish Ophthalmology Society (TOD) and the European Dry Eye Society (EuDES), reflecting his key interests in cataract/refractive surgery, keratoconus/corneal diseases, and dry eye/ocular surface diseases.
